Birdcage Nightclub Auction

When timing, lease obligations, and equipment value intersect, execution matters. A strategic auction can turn fixtures, furnishings, and kitchen equipment into immediate capital — while avoiding costly delay

Situation

Juan Imeroni — whose prominent local portfolio includes Shire’s Garden and O’Malley’s in the Alley — has worked with Worley Auctioneers for more than a decade. As a seasoned operator, he understands that concept transitions require speed, precision, and a trusted liquidation partner.

When it was time to close another restaurant concept and liquidate equipment and décor, Juan needed a rapid, start-to-finish solution. The objective was clear: vacate leased premises on schedule, maximize value, and avoid the added expense of storage, relocation, or disposal.

Solution

Worley Auctioneers deployed its specialized restaurant liquidation team — drawing on experience conducting more restaurant auctions than anyone else in the region. From national rollouts involving more than 300 TGI Friday’s locations to iconic local institutions such as Palomino’s on Fountain Square and The Old Spaghetti Factory, our team understands both the equipment market and the emotional pull of restaurant furnishings.

For this project, we developed a comprehensive marketing strategy targeting 126 registered bidders across our established restaurant and equipment buyer network. In addition, we engaged former patrons of the concept — recognizing the sentimental value attached to select furnishings and décor — expanding buyer demand beyond traditional commercial purchasers.

Outcome

The auction delivered a swift, efficient liquidation that allowed the seller to vacate the leased premises on time. By eliminating the need for storage, transport, or piecemeal sales, the project reduced overhead and prevented additional rent exposure.

Our hybrid online auction with a live, on-site component created competitive bidding momentum — transforming fixtures, décor, and kitchen equipment into immediate liquidity. The result was a clean transition, controlled costs, and capital ready to be deployed into the next venture.

Maximize Value. Minimize Stress.
