Bidder Acknowledgement
 Prior to placing a bid, each bidder is required to review and acknowledge acceptance of the auction’s Terms & Conditions.

By submitting a bid, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to all auction-specific terms, including but not limited to: auction closing date and time, auction and pickup location(s), pickup requirements and deadlines, buyer’s premium, applicable sales tax (or tax exemption status), and payment terms.

Each auction may have unique terms. It is the bidder’s responsibility to review the Terms & Conditions applicable to each auction prior to bidding.

Watchlist

Want to watch items without bidding right away? Click the star to add items to your Watchlist. You can view your Watchlist anytime from the account menu, and remove items by clicking the star again.

Bid Increments

Bid increments are the next required amount to become the current high bidder. If another bidder has a higher Max Bid in place, you may be prompted to increase your bid to stay competitive.

Max Bid

Here’s what it does (and doesn’t) do:
✅ Places bids on your behalf only as needed
✅ Increases bids by the required increments
✅ Your maximum is never displayed
❌ Does not automatically jump straight to your maximum

Max Bid is a great way to stay in the running without constantly watching the clock.

Mistaken Bid

If you entered an erroneous bid, contact us as soon as possible before the auction closes and we’ll assist.

Outbid Notifications

You may receive email notifications if you’ve been outbid prior to closing.

Staggered Closing

Most auctions close a few items at a time—typically 3–5 items per minute, starting with Item #1. This keeps closing orderly and gives bidders time to react.

Dynamic Closing (Extended Bidding)

If there is bidding activity in the final moments of an item’s closing time, that item’s timer will extend. This protects fair bidding and helps prevent last-second sniping.

Friendly Reminder: Keep Your Page Fresh

Online bidding inspires action—especially near closing. Please refresh your browser often to see the most current bid amounts and remaining time.
Pro tip: When bidding is competitive, refreshing every few seconds during closing is a smart habit.

Receipts

Payments are typically processed after the auction closes, and you’ll receive an itemized receipt by email.

Cash payments

If you prefer to pay by cash, contact us before the auction ends.

Invoices over $10,000: Payment is required by wire transfer or cash. We’ll contact you after the auction closes with simple instructions.

Buyer’s Premium

A buyer’s premium applies to all auctions. Always refer to the auction Terms, but typically:

• 10% for real estate
• 20% for personal property
No hidden fees.

Payment issues

If your payment can’t be processed, you’ll receive a secure link to update your payment method. Payment must be received within 24 hours of the auction closing.

Sales Tax

Sales tax may apply based on location, item type, and exemption status. Any applicable tax will be reflected on your invoice.

Third-party pickup

Someone else can pick up your items—just email us in advance or complete the Third-Party Pickup Release below

Shipping

We do not offer shipping unless arranged in advance. You may use any shipper—just be sure they understand the pickup window.

Loading

Buyers are responsible for disassembly, loading, and removal. Please come prepared. Our team can assist with a few small items as a courtesy.

Appointments

When applicable, we’ll email an appointment link after the auction. Appointment holders receive priority.

If you can’t attend pickup yourself, you may authorize someone else to retrieve your items. By submitting a Third-Party Pickup Release, you confirm:

• You are the winning bidder for the items listed
• You authorize the individual/company named to pick up items on your behalf
• Responsibility transfers to you and your designated representative at pickup
• Worley Auctioneers is released from liability once items are removed from the premises

This must be completed prior to pickup. A valid photo ID may be required for verification. Click here for our Third-Party Pickup Release form. 

• Bid: An offer to buy an item at a specific price.
• Current High Bidder: The bidder who currently has the highest bid on an item.
• Outbid: When another bidder places a higher bid than yours.
• Bid Increment: The required “step” amount bids must increase by (example: bids may need to go up by $5, $10, $25, etc.).
• Next Required Bid: The lowest amount you can bid next based on the current bid and the bid increment.
• Bid History: A record of bidding activity on an item (amounts and/or number of bids, depending on what’s displayed).
• Max Bid: The maximum amount you’re willing to pay. The system bids for you automatically in increments, only as needed, up to your max.
• Lot / Item: A single listing in the auction catalog (one item or a grouped set sold together).
• Lot Number / Item Number: The number assigned to each item in the auction.
• Lot Description: The written details about the item (dimensions, condition notes, included parts, etc.).
• Preview / Inspection: A scheduled time (or process) to view items before bidding, when offered.
• As-Is, Where-Is: Items are sold in their current condition and location, with no warranties of any kind.
• Timed Online Auction: Bidding is open for a set period and items close at scheduled times (rather than a live auctioneer calling bids).
• Staggered Closing: Items close one after another (often a few per minute) instead of all at once.
• Dynamic Closing / Extended Bidding / Soft Close: If a bid is placed near the end of an item’s closing time, that item’s timer extends to allow fair competition.
• Closing Time: The scheduled time the item is set to end (may extend if dynamic closing is used).
• Winning Bid (Hammer Price): The final winning bid amount for the item (before fees/taxes).
• Invoice: Your itemized total after the auction (winning bid + buyer’s premium + taxes/fees, if applicable).
• Buyer Confirmation: Email or page showing the items you won and next steps (payment and pickup instructions).
• Buyer’s Premium: A percentage added to the winning bid (listed in each auction’s Terms).
• Sales Tax: May apply depending on location, item type, and exemption status (if applicable).
• Pickup / Removal: The process and time window to collect your items after the auction.
• Buyer Responsible for Removal: The buyer must bring labor, tools, packing materials, and transport to remove items.
• Third-Party Pickup: Someone else picking up your items on your behalf. You can authorize someone through the link that will be emailed with your receipt.
• Abandoned Items: Items not picked up by the deadline may be considered forfeited (rules should be stated in Terms).
