VLT Academy to auction off assets

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -Just months after VLT Academy closed its doors because of legal troubles, the school is selling off its assets to the general public.

The school supplies, gadgets and furniture will be sold online. There will also be a public preview at the 1100 Sycamore Street campus on Sunday.

Hundreds of Apple desktops, iPads, PCs and monitors as well as furniture and educational resources will be available at the auction.

According to Penny Worley of Worley Auctioneers and Appraisers, everything must sell to the highest bidder, regardless of price.

The online auction is open to the general public and ends Monday. To bid on items, visit the Worley Auctioneers website. If you have any questions, call 513-774-9182.

VLT Academy lost its sponsor, which all charter schools are required to have, due to academic and financial issues. Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Nadine Allen then ordered the Ohio Department of Education to sponsor the school. That order was overturned on appeal, closing the school for good.
